All offenders received at Dorchester are needs assessed and offered as much support as possible in addressing their offending behaviour and resettlement issues.
They are managed through the Offender Management Unit and will be transferred to the most appropriate establishments to meet their needs where possible.
Dorchester Prison offers physical education for recreation, heath and training programmes leading to recognised qualifications. Catering and industrial cleaning courses are also available alongside very dynamic education provision. Offenders have access to the prison library, healthcare and chaplaincy support. On-going pastoral care is also available through the Footprints Mentoring Project on release.
