Rye Hill

HMP Rye Hill is situated in the village of Willougby, near Rugby, in Warwickshire. It opened in early 2001 as a purpose built training prison and is run by G4S.

Operational Capacity: 664 as of 25th September 2009


Reception Criteria: Sentenced to over 4 years, Category B, minimum of 18 months left to serve. No outstanding hospital appointments unless the appointment is local to Rye Hill, no prisoner requiring in patient/hospital location. No prisoner with ongoing psychiatric problems except with prior agreement with the Director/OCA, unless a sex offender, only prisoners who can go onto normal location. No imminent outstanding court appearances. Disabled prisoners only by prior agreement.
