As a procurement professional, you'll be working with suppliers to get the best deal, but it won't be just about cost. Increasingly, organisations want to know that the products they buy are from sustainable and ethical sources.
It's a growing profession. Today, organisations want to know that their budgets, often substantial, are in hands of professionals. They need to know that they are getting the best possible value for money and also complying with procurement law. Their reputation and delivery may rely on it.

We're responsible for a budget of more than £550m and for ensuring that our prisons and other sites get the things that they need. That includes everything from Prison Officer uniforms to bullet proof windscreens; tins of beans to specialist construction services for the many listed buildings in which our establishments are housed.
