Official Prison Visitors

An Official Prison Visitor is someone who visits prisoners regardless of whether they have visits from family and friends. Someone who has time to listen in confidence and show respect to a prisoner.

They will commit themselves to visit a prisoner on a regular basis, normally this will usually be around two hours a month.

The National Association of Official Prison Visitors (NAOPV) co-ordinates the activities of Official Prison Visitors and provides training and support for volunteers. Contact NAOPV if you are interested in volunteering to be a Prison Visitor.
