Visiting a family member or a friend in prison can be a difficult experience, however we consider this of vital importance and do everything in our power to make it as easy and comfortable as possible.

What if I don't know which prison my relative/friend is in?
If you have a friend or relative in custody but you are not sure which prison they are in, the
Prisoner Location Service can help you locate them.
Help with travel costs
If you are visiting a close relative or partner, you may be able to get help with travel costs under the Assisted Prison Visit Scheme.
Finally, if this is your first time and you are unsure about what to expect, please contact the visitor's centre at the Prison or the support groups available for families and friends.
